For the last couple of months I've been telling myself that I need to start working out again. Well, that day has come and I will start another session of P90X and Insanity! I've completed both of these workouts, P90X three times and Insanity once. I will say that I did see really good results. However, I didn't have results like the people on the infomercials. I've figured out the reason why I haven't been able to get those results, my diet.
The first time I did P90X I didn't eat well all the time. I did start eating oatmeal with bananas, strawberries, and kiwi each morning. But after that, I was a constant customer of fast food burritos (my favorite). I figured eating burritos was sensible and help me get the protein I needed. I was wrong. While I did see muscle gain in my arms, chest, back, and legs, I still fought with excess belly fat). That's been the one area of my body that I've struggled with (I refuse to use those belly fat burning supplements. So each time I started a new program, I would less fast food and tried to add in more fruits and vegetables. I saw increased results after completing each round of the workouts. Needless to say, I was in the best shape of my life (still not at my ultimate goals) when my son was conceived. I really think that had a lot to do with how big and how healthy Marcelo is.
I haven't worked out at all in 2013 and I have regressed in my fitness. So the plan now is to combine both P90X and Insanity. I'm going to start off alternating workouts each day. But eventually I want to get to the point where I'm doing Insanity in the mornings and P90X in the evenings. Also, I need to make sure that I'm eating properly. I know that's gonna take a lot of work and dedication, but I'm up for it!
Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" is my favorite song right now and this is a pretty sweet mashup of it with Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean". Enjoy!
Every year I think the Spurs have a chance to win another championship. The excitement and dreams of raising another banner begin each October. Then there's six months of waiting til the playoffs. It's always hard to tell what seed the Spurs will be, but making the playoffs is pretty much guaranteed. And then it starts to happen, the Spurs knock off one team after another. All the way up until they finally do it, they become Western Conference Champions. Last night was a 6 year dream come true.
I'm so happy and proud that the Spurs were able to make it back to the NBA Finals. They're playing very well and only have one team standing in the way of their 5th Championship. Whether its LeBron and the Heat or George Hill and the Pacers, neither team can hang with the Spurs. It won't be easy, but I know we can do it. Tony Parker is playing out of his mind, Tim Duncan is playing like he did during our previous Championship runs, and Manu Ginobili is coming through when we need him. Plus, we have a whole team of role players that know how to be team players. This is probably the best and deepest roster the Spurs have ever had. I just know we have this Championship in the bag.
Finally, I would like to say "You're welcome" to all Spurs fans. I know that the reason they've done so well is because my son, Marcelo was born. And if the Spurs have a chance to close it out at the AT&T Center, I will do everything I can to have him at the game. Go Spurs Go!
